I have been thinking this from a long time that how rapidly media have advanced. Earlier media was magazines and newspapers but computers and other electronic gadgets have overtaken it now. Initially newspapers, books, magazines and posters were used to enlighten people about the world. Then it was replaced by Radio and Television but it was not in practice when it was launched because it was an expensive source of media. Eventually Internet hit the media market and everything else seemed to be vanishing. Now we can say that the paper media has disappeared.

The Evolution of Media: Traditional media vs New Media

A growing share of consumer-goods media spending is shifting away from traditional advertising media (television, radio, print, and outdoor). The proliferation of new media alternatives (online advertising, YouTube, social media, mobile, search engines, apps, etc.) is attracting money once spent on traditional media.

Traditional Media

· Why traditional media? Not everyone has migrated to the World Wide Web. People not on the Web still look for your ads in newspapers and trade publications. Even if they are web-savvy, they still look to other media for information, whether for reinforcement or variety. If they have made a decision about using a product or service, every time they see the company’s name in the media, that reinforces their correct decision about dealing with the company.
